PITTSBURGH -- Pennsylvania State Police said they arrested a man accused of making threats against officers for several years at his Pittsburgh home.

Thomas Paul McPherson was arrested at his Sample Street home on Thursday.

Troopers said McPherson has been making threats against police officials since 2010 and had been arrested twice before for making threats after his son was arrested.

Investigators said the threats became so alarming that Indiana Township Police Chief Robert Wilson requested assistance from the district attorney's office.

McPherson is facing several charges, including harassment and terroristic threats.
